The Best Cities for Business, Travel and Life

New York is the most popular city worldwide, as per the recently released 2017 Ipsos Top Cities Index, but for Indians it comes fifth in the list of their favorite cities they’d like to live in.

The Ipsos study covered people in 26 countries. They were asked which, from a list of 60 global cities, they felt were best to live in, do business in, and visit. The scores from the three questions were then added together to create the Ipsos Cities Index. The study found that given an opportunity, Indians would love to live in Abu Dhabi, followed by Mumbai, Singapore, Delhi, London, Paris, Sydney and New York.

Globally, Abu Dhabi leapfrogged London and Paris into second position, with Tokyo, Sydney and Zurich on the same score in equal fifth.

“We see the power of the New York brand internationally with its appeal to people across the world, young and old. But the rise of Abu Dhabi and the weakness of Sydney among younger people remind us that no city can afford to rest on its laurels,” says Amit Adarkar, the CEO of Ipsos India.

The remaining top ten positions this year are occupied by Rome, Los Angeles and Amsterdam. The cities at the bottom of this year’s ranking are Karachi, Nairobi and Tehran.

Globally, Indian city Delhi is ranked in 40th position followed by Mumbai in 41st position out of 60 global cities which was considered for Ipsos Top Cities 2017 study. Check out the slideshow below to know the top choices of cities for Travel, Business and Life:
